Piatkus Books became known as a pioneer of new ideas in personal development and alternative health. In 2009 the Times of London described Judy as ‘one of the world’s leading thinkers’. Her memoir ‘Ahead of Her Time’ was published April 2020.

Judy Piatkus founded her independent publishing company Piatkus Books from her London home in the 1980s. She was married with three children, and her eldest daughter has disabilities. Over the next 25 years she grew it into one of the world’s leading independent book publishing companies. Piatkus Books became known as a pioneer of new ideas in personal development and alternative health and also launched the careers of several talented writers. Many of America’s greatest commercial novelists were published by Piatkus in the UK and abroad including bestsellers  Nora Roberts, J D Robb, Danielle Steel, Robert Crais.  Judy completed a successful exit selling Piatkus before the credit crunch in 2007.  She now works as a consultant and mentor and brings people together for conscious conversation through her network ConsciousCafe. In 2009 the Times of London described Judy as ‘one of the world’s leading thinkers’. Her memoir Ahead of Her Time was published last April.
