News Update: Neil Laughton and Deri Llewellyn-Davies from Everest

I introduced two adventurous friends and former radio show guests  Neil Laughton and Deri Llewellyn-Davies in 2013. The consequence was a very elevating attempt to break a World Record for the Highest Dinner Party to raise funds for Community Action Nepal.Their timing, however, proved to be unfortunate and they are currently safe but as I write on the Advanced Base Camp on the North side of Everest awaiting safe descent. Below is an update yesterday from Deri’s team and a link for us to help the Nepalese people who really need our help right now and obtain Deri’s ebook for free.

A MESSAGE FROM DERI LIVE FROM EVEREST

Many people have been contacting myself (Kelly) & Sara Beth to discover how Deri is, as he was climbing Everest while the tragic earthquake struck Nepal on Saturday.  It created multiple avalanches, which resulted in fatalities on the mountain, mainly at Base Camp.
Fortunately, the team had already left Base Camp to reach a higher destination, where they were going to attempt to break a World Record.  They are currently at Advanced Base Camp on the North side, as parts of the mountain are shut and the Chinese government are not allowing them to descend to Base Camp yet.  However, the whole team are fine & have enough supplies.
Deri has been in contact with me daily and unfortunately they have had to cancel their Guiness World Record attempt of the Worlds Highest Dinner Party.  However, the Nepalese charity they were raising money for, need donations more than ever now!
So Deri has asked me to send a few things out to you:
  • An official update from Deri & a recording of the interview with the BBC & Neil Laughton  Click Here to listen
  • The team were raising money for Community Action Nepal who now need donations more than ever!  Please donate generously to support the communities in Nepal who are in desperate need of support. Deri is giving you his adventure ebook for FREE as a thank you for your support.  Donate & download here
  • I have passed your messages, thoughts & prayers on to Deri & the team, to which he said to thank you all very much!  He believes they are playing a big part in keeping them safe.
You can follow updates by Deri’s social media channels

    ………..
Best wishes to them both for a safe return and also my thoughts are also with the people of Nepal,

“Few presenters can connect the fate of kidnapped penguins to enhanced business performance strategies so seamlessly.  Chris works on our post-experience graduate courses and helps us to bring practitioner issues into focus for students. Articulate and considered, Chris carefully weaves anecdotes from his extensive commercial experience and stories from his personal life, to offer a gentle critique on the state of contemporary management. Our students leave the room inspired to consider how they can play a part in elevating the importance of individual well being and the centrality of human relationships for the benefit of an organisation’s productivity.”
