Elevating Your Good With LinkedIn with Danielle Ellis

In a world where visibility and positioning matter more than ever, many highly capable leaders find themselves brilliantly representing their organisations, yet struggling to articulate their own value.
This conversation explores why that happens and, more importantly, what to do about it.
Chris was joined by Danielle Ellis, a career strategist who has helped over 2,000 executives position themselves more powerfully in the market, earning more than 2,000 five-star reviews for her work.
Danielle specialises in helping high-performing leaders translate their impact into clear, compelling personal narratives that attract the right opportunities.
Together, they explored how LinkedIn can be used as a powerful platform to elevate your good, increase your visibility, and open doors to meaningful opportunities.
The discussion brought clarity to how the LinkedIn algorithm works, the differences between personal and business pages, and how to show up authentically while still being strategic.
With a practical and structured approach, Danielle also explained how to build a strong presence, create content that resonates, and position yourself in a way that reflects your true value in an increasingly competitive and AI-influenced landscape.
Know that you are good enough… You have a voice that matters, people want to hear from you, you have a unique take, you have things to contribute to this market and the whole entire platform will be better off if you’re sharing those.

Here are some insights from the interview you don’t want to miss:
- Visibility and Search Optimisation on LinkedIn: The importance of getting “eyeballs” on your profile through search optimisation: maximising keywords in your headline, job titles, and skills to ensure your profile is discoverable. The headline is your “billboard,” so don’t waste the real estate by defaulting to your job title alone.
- Tell Your Unique Story—Be a Category of One: Most people are too close to their own stories, leading to bland or generic content. Danielle’s approach centres on mining your experience deeply to present yourself uniquely—if your summary could fit a hundred people, it’s not clear or specific enough. Aim to be a “category of one.”
- Don’t Rely on AI Alone for Your Profile: While AI can be helpful for keyword research or generating lists of skills, relying solely on AI-generated content for your LinkedIn profile or resume leads to bland, generic text that doesn’t convey your true value. Use AI strategically, but always personalise and contextualise your story.
- Engagement Matters—Show Up as a Human: LinkedIn’s algorithm increasingly rewards authenticity and engagement. Automated or heavily branded content is deprioritised, while human, genuine posts and real participation in comments boost your visibility and impact. Balance posting with meaningful interaction, but set boundaries so it doesn’t become a distraction.
- Personal Profile Outweighs Business Page for Reach: The reach of a personal LinkedIn profile is far greater than a company page (over five times more). Company pages serve more as credibility markers, but if you want engagement and real visibility, focus on your personal profile and show up as a leader and human, not just a brand.
This is a conversation for anyone who wants to be seen, understood, and valued for the difference they make—and to use LinkedIn more intentionally to support that journey.
